Little lady, two brothers- Lifestyle Newborn

This little lady is so lucky to have two older brothers. She has a built in fan club ready for her. The oldest was especially helpful. He is so big that he was able to hold baby sister all by himself. He did so ever so carefully. We talked about all of her adorable features and were able to just stare at her. Newborns add such a special spirit to a home. They add a peace and always remind me their is so much good in the world. I felt so grateful to be invited into this family’s home.

Since this darling little girl is the third child the atmosphere in the home was very laid- back. The parent’s took everything in stride. We did family photos first and then the boys went to the dining area to have lunch. One of the benefits of doing a session at home is anything the older kids need is just a room away. It’s always amazing to me that this little person wasn’t here a few weeks ago. Then she came and fit ever so perfectly into the home. She fills a gap in the home that the family never knew was missing.

Lifestyle Newborn Three children

One of the things I love to showcase in my newborn work is holding your babe. Images of me holding my children are so precious to me. It takes me back to the moment of being so close to them that I can smell them. Snuggling them right next to my chest is as close to them as I’ll get. I love the innocent intimacy between a parent and child. LIttle lady at home

Jacksonville, Florida Home Newborn Session

This in home newborn session took place in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  Newborns grow so quickly in the first few weeks so it is awesome to photograph them when they are little and cuddly. This little guy completes their family. What a wonderful feeling to know your family is perfectly completed.

Every time I photograph in someone’s home I am honored the family allows me into their private living space. It’s wonderful and I get to learn so much about the family. I was warmly greeted at the door by the dad and toddler.

Once I entered the home, to the left was a shadowbox with photos of their home under construction and first house key. I was told it was a house warming gift. What a great idea. To the right was a table filled with lots of photos of their family through the years. I can’t help it but I loved looking at all the old photos and learning some of the stories behind them.

Then I got to meet the mom and the handsome new addition. This newborn came a little early. The family looked great – they chose navy with a pop of red. The nursery is nautical themed so the photos will complement the room perfectly.  The nursery was really cool. They showed me their oldest son’s name written in nautical flags on the wall. They were going to do the same with the new baby.

First, we photographed the entire family and then got all the photos with the two brothers.  The big brother was energetic, playful, and so loving. After he was done with photos he went to play at a friend’s house. Then we were able to focus on mom, dad, and baby.

Both of the boys’ names start with the letter “H”. The mom looked beautiful and wore a necklace with the letter “H” on it. A newborn snuggled up close to mom’s heart is one of my favorite photos to capture.

I always count on needing to take a break to feed a newborn during a session. Holding the baby in different positions is a work out for the little guy so we stopped and he got fed. Then we finished up our session. It was fun to catch a smile and yawn on camera. They were such a pleasant family to be around.

Jacksonville Beach Lifestyle Newborn

This was a beautiful lifestyle newborn session. This handsome little guy was sleeping when I first came into the home. I peered into the crib and saw a little angel sleeping. While mom got him up, I was greeted by dad and their other son. I read Paw Patrol to the preschooler and he showed me his cars and trains. Then we started the family photos.

There were numerous photographs beautifully displayed in their home. In the master bedroom their oldest baby photos were on both nightstands.  It’s wonderful when photos are printed out to be enjoyed.

Prior to visiting their home, mom and I discussed words such as sweet, peaceful and natural as the type of desired images. A new baby does turn our world upside down but there is so much added joy a newborn brings. Lifestyle newborn photography showcases how perfectly the baby fits into the family. This little guy did just that. He snuck in a few little smiles for us that I loved.

All of my children have arrived after my due date so having a child come early is mind boggling to me. I need every last day to prepare for a new baby in the house.I have to applaud the parents. This little guy came early. They had already planned their oldest birthday party (and had it shortly AFTER the baby came home from the hospital). They had the name picked out early enough to have his name embroidered on the darling crib bumper.

There is some down time during newborn sessions while the baby needs to be fed. I enjoyed chatting with mom about her pregnancy and delivery.  I mostly noted how her world revolves around her children and all the fun things she did with her son prior to welcoming another baby into their home.

The beautiful navy lace dress mom wore added a nice texture to the photos. The baby was simply wrapped in a white blanket. This keeps the baby snug, the focus on the baby and a timeless feel to the images. Lifestyle Newborn Photography Continue after the jump to see more of this lifestyle newborn session.
