Sisters/ Jacksonville Beach Senior Photographer

This sister portrait session was amazing. These photos were taken at Jacksonville Beach in late summer. We started planning a couple of months before hand and the attention to detail made me so happy. The girls had two outfits one casual and one with maxi skirts. I liked the maxi skirts because they flowed like the waves. We chose colors that complemented each of the girls eye/hair color and skin tones. We incorporated things that fit their interests: one LOVES Hairy Potter (check out all of her cool jewelry) and the other is really into music.

We made sure there was texture in their clothes (crochet top & vest, woven hat, lace shirt, jewelry). There was texture in their hair with the floral crowns and summer braids/curls. Speaking of the floral crowns we discussed them ahead of time and they wanted crowns with petite white/ivory flowers. They were so easy to put together and they added such a fun dynamic to the photos. Aside from the baby breaths, the rest of the materials for the floral crowns were bought at Hobby Lobby. I need to do a tutorial for the crowns (in fact I loved them so much I made some for my daughter and I to take some pictures in a few weeks later). The other fun detail was the purple ombre nails. I was inspired by these from Twist Me Pretty.

You can totally tell these girls are sisters by the way they connected and acted around each other. I can tell they have an excellent relationship. They were so easy going. At the end of the session, I even had them play in the water and get their clothes wet. Both of these girls are stunning and I enjoyed photographing them.  sisters-1 sisters-2

Celebrate Me with Running/ Jacksonville Lifestyle Photographer

Do you remember the celebrate me series? This series is supposed to highlight other aspects of your life that you might not normally photograph. I want to show what activities make you. These running photos are of the same girl who did Barre and who is the mother of these children. She blogs over at Marathon Momma.

It was a beautiful morning for a run and to take pictures. We took them in a few different locations in Ransom Canyon. It was a treat to see the Texas Longhorns in the background and at the very end of the session a dog started running in the photos as well.

We woke up before sunrise to get these photos done. I snapped a few portraits of her and then she started running. Actually the photos are not just of running, I wanted to tell a story. As a runner myself, I know there is a lot more to running than the actual run. There is stretching, meditation and preparation (eating and drinking) for runs especially long ones. After taking these photos and seeing her blogging partner’s instagram, I really want some running pictures of myself. I absolutely loved photographing her and want to photograph more people running and being active. Run-1 Run-2 Run-3 Run-4

Family Photos/ Jacksonville, Florida

These family photos were taken in Ransom Canyon a little oasis outside of Lubbock, Texas. The father was actually out of town on business so the focus on this session was the six children. I had heard that photographing large families was a piece of cake. Well, if they are anything like this family then it’s true. The kids were not only so well behaved but they were just so loving toward each other. They took care of each other. They carried each other, they were concerned about each other and they truly loved being together. I learned that the oldest began learning guitar from his father, then he self taught himself and is now teaching his sister. Do you remember when I talked about how I always wanted an older brother in this session? Well, the photos of the oldest brother teaching the oldest sister how to play guitar also reconfirm that wish for me.

I mentioned to the mom that it would be fun to bring things that were special to each of the kids to make the session more personal. They did a great job and I just learned so much more about the children. There was a dog named Christmas, the kids are musically talented with the guitar and the trombone and a favorite play dress was worn that had gotten soiled at the fair (and not by dirt)! I had mom take a few solo portraits as well. I can’t believe she has six kids– she looks so young. I had to be so selective with which photos to share because with six kids there were a lot of photos to choose from. Please enjoy. Watermark-Ransom1 Watermark-Ransom-2 To Watermark-Ransom-3
